The 7th annual Northern Ohio Marathon will consist of Lake County's first and only marathon, along with a Half Marathon. 

The marathon and half marathon will utilize the beautiful Headlands Beach State Park, in Mentor, Ohio as the races starting and finish points. They will wind through northern Mentor, Willoughby and along Lake Erie. 


Relay Information:

A team of five runners will complete the entire marathon distance. Each runner will run one leg of varying distance handing off a slap bracelet containing your scoring chip to the next team member at each relay exchange zone. The course is the same as the full marathon course and the start time is the same time as the regular marathon. Relay runners are responsible for getting to and from the relay zones. 

The Lake Health Northern Ohio Marathon Relay approximate race distances will be as follows:
    >> Relay 1: 5.1 miles (ice cream shop on Lakeshore Blvd., across from Blackbrook Golf Course)
    >> Relay 2: 4.65 miles (Post Office, on Tyler Blvd.)
    >> Relay 3: 6.0 miles (on Lost Nation Blvd., near sports complex)
    >> Relay 4: 6.0 miles (Mentor Lagoons, off Harbor Drive)
    >> Relay 5: 4.45 miles (Finish Line, Headlands Beach State Park)

The divisions include:
    >> 1) All male
    >> 2) All female
    >> 3) Coed

All relay runners will receive a race shirt along with a finisher medal.

Awards for below events will be given to the Top 3 placers in each of the below age groups, for both male and female runners.

    >> Half Marathon :

>> Almost everywhere along the course is good to watch the runners. There are businesses and parking lots all along the course that will allow for easy parking and viewing of the runners as they pass by. Just print off a course map and follow along.

Timing / Scoring / Boston Qualifier

    >> YES, the Northern Ohio Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying event: Certification # OH15039MW


This years Lake Health Running Series will be electronically chip timed and scored by Greater Cleveland XC.


Results will be online and available immediately. Also, runners can have their results posted to Facebook and/or Twitter automatically with our Social Media software. Signup for that capability is on the registration page.
